As an avid swimmer, water polo player and surfer, I have always had a passion for the water. Under the Red Cross as well as through independent swim companies, I’ve been teaching students of all skill sets and ages how to swim for over 14 years—specializing in lessons to neurodiverse children and young adults. I participated annually in the Surf Camp for the Autism Society in La Jolla and have even traveled to Africa to teach other instructors how to properly give swim lessons to children with autism!
Over the years, I have developed my own style of teaching that adapts to meet each student’s needs, with the main goal always being that each swimmer feels safe, comfortable, and confident in the water. I’ve also found that in order for swimming to become both a lifelong skill as well as a passion, it’s critical that each student enjoys being in the water while they learn.
No matter what stage of swimming your child is at—whether they’ve never dipped a toe into a pool or are prepping for summer swim league tryouts—I’m here to help them reach their goals and have fun along the way.
